Local guides passionate about sharing the magic of Mission Beach and the Cassowary Coast
Mission Beach Adventures was born from a deep love for one of Australia's most extraordinary coastlines — where the Daintree Rainforest tumbles down to meet the Great Barrier Reef.
We've spent years exploring these waters: finding the best snorkel spots on Beaver Reef, learning the tides around Dunk Island and Bedarra Island, watching humpback whales pass through on their annual migration, and getting to know every mood the Coral Sea can throw at you.
Our mission is simple: to share this place with people who are ready to be genuinely amazed by it. Not a rushed, tick-the-box tour. A real experience, guided by people who actually live here and love it.

We're a small, locally owned operation — not a large national operator. That means smaller groups, more personal attention, and guides who know these reef systems by name. We operate AMSA-compliant vessels, hold all required Queensland tourism licences, and our guides are first aid certified and trained in responsible marine wildlife interaction.
We also take our environmental responsibility seriously. Reef-safe sunscreen, mooring buoys instead of anchors, zero single-use plastics on board, and active support for local reef monitoring programs. The reef is our business — and we intend to keep it healthy.

Mission Beach sits on the Cassowary Coast in Tropical North Queensland, roughly halfway between Cairns and Townsville. It's one of the only places in the world where two UNESCO World Heritage areas — the Wet Tropics Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef — meet within minutes of each other.
Beaver Reef, our primary reef site, is one of the most pristine and accessible sections of the Great Barrier Reef. The Family Islands — including Dunk Island, Bedarra Island, Wheeler Island, and Coombe Island — sit just offshore and offer some of the most beautiful tropical island scenery in Queensland.
Accredited, experienced and genuinely passionate about this coastline
Mission Beach Adventures is operated by locals who have spent years on these waters. Our guides hold current maritime qualifications, Marine Science degrees, first aid certifications, and have extensive knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef, the Family Islands, and the Cassowary Coast.
We operate under a Queensland Tourism licence and carry full commercial marine insurance. Our vessels — including our jet boat MBJet — are AMSA-compliant and maintained to the highest safety standards.
We're proud members of the local Mission Beach tourism community and work closely with local Indigenous rangers, reef monitoring groups, and conservation organisations.
